I'm not dead

...I'm just busy.

I can't really talk about my new job, but let's just say i'm training to become a librarian for the parliamentarians. My training will last another three weeks, after which I will be released into the wild and sometimes surreal world of parliamentary life. Obviously I can't blog about that, but this blog isn't about politics anyway.

A week into my training, i'm starting to feel a bit weak. This is very typical: I get a sore throat when i'm overwhelmed with new responsibilities and new feelings about things, about my job. I know that if I sit with these feelings of anxiety for a while, they will go with no consequence. In the meantime, I have to be working my way through some potentially confusing territory, at the end of which I will experience some down time at a cottage in Purdy Lake. It will be summer, after all. I'm glad it's raining and cold today: I have an excuse to finish my book.

Congrats. I know all about the "rundown and overwhelmed" thing -- good luck letting it roll.

Glad to be done with that commute, huh?
